Captain Ed,
I want to thank you for the wonderful day of fishing last Saturday. Spending a day with you and your wife Sandi, was a wonderful experience for my wife and I. Seeing Deb catch fish, and struggling with that big Red, was one of the most "smile producing" days I've had in a long time. I've known Captain Ed for a long time, and have shared many sports related experiences with him, but to also share some of those experiences with my wife was doubly great. Showing Deb many of the sites I've been able to see many times, fishing with Ed, was exceptional. Starting with the monkey's, to seeing manatee, then actually being escorted by two large, and wonderful, dolphin out the Homosassa River, was exceptional.
Spending a day with people of good character, a Christian, is always good, but on the water catching fish makes it even better. It's always fun spending a day with Captain Ed and his wife Sandi, but to do it with my wife, made it even more special. Now she knows of "some" of the many, and some funny, stories Ed tells. Remember, "X" marks the spot. Now that she has caught one of the biggest Reds I've ever seen, and some very nice trout, as well as other species, my days on the water will be plentiful. Thanks for hooking my wife on fishing the Gulf. I can now see many more wonderful days of fishing ahead. Thanks again Ed.

I've hired guides for more than 30 years now; all sorts of them, many of which
I would love to forget. Hiring a guide blind means trusting faith that you don't
run into some crusty curmudgeon, brooding alcoholic, guy-who-can't-do-anything-else,
or mild to moderate sociopath. Then there are those legions of part time guides
who should never give up their day jobs.
Interviewing Captain Ed, I found out two key factors: he was an previous scoutmaster,
and guided full time for more than 5 years. My hopes ran high on my trip, and
expectations were exceeded. Ed turned out to be one of the very best guides I
have ever chartered. He was pleasant, patient, willing and able to teach me a
lot, and would experiment with me kindly. From knots to lures, to rods to structure
and how to read the waters, I learned an incredible amount of fishing knowledge.
When the weather was awful, and few boats were dumb enough to be out, Ed produced
our limits with aplomb.
It's hard to ask more of a guide than to put you on fish and teach you how
to catch them. But Ed is just plain fun to fish with. Fishing stories, lies, "blarney"
and bull, Ed keeps you entertained when the fishing is slow. He is interested
in, and works hard at, helping you have a good day. Most important of all, Ed
is truly a remarkably decent guy with lots of people-skills who is genuinely fun
to spend a day with. He's a real natural, and spending a day with Capt Ed produces
not only fish, but memories of a great day on the water. I cannot recommend him
enough.

Dear Captain Ed,
The
Trout and the Flounder were really delicious. We had a great dinner and yesterday
the best time we had for a long time. Thank you for making my Mom and Dad's Anniversary
so special! People say that when you cook fish, and the kitchen doesn't smell
it's because the fish is fresh! Guess what?! Our kitchen didn't smell!!
Thanks again,

Capt Ed,
My friends had asked me if I would be interested in filling in for a guy who
couldn't make the trip this year. They had told me that instead of deep sea fishing
they wanted to try the flats in Homosassa. I had never been salt water fishing
and hadn't had my fishing rods out of the basement in ten years but I really wanted
to get back into fishing again.
We came down there last Thursday from Atlanta. Checked into the hotel and from
then on I kept wondering what Friday would be like. I really just didn't want
to look like the novice that I felt I was. Needless to say I didn't sleep very
well that night.
Friday morning was beautiful and on the boat ride out I could hardly wait to
start casting. About the third cast I landed trout number one and I felt back
in the game.
Thanks to your tutoring and the laughs that all of us had (especially with
having two Eds on board), the rest of the day was fantastic! We caught a lot of
trout, Spanish mackerel, cobia, grouper and I can't recall the names of the others,
not to mention the shark. I can't thank my friends enough for asking me to go
and you for showing me how.
As soon as I am done mowing the lawn and whittling down the honey-do list,
the rods are coming out of the basement. We will be coming back! I can hardly
wait to see the pictures! Thanks again Capt. Ed

Ed,
Special thanks for a fun day. Ginny and I talked on the way home about
what a super day it was. The fishing was excellent, the guide was excellent, and
the pictures you took were excellent. I appreciated the help you gave Ginny to
make it a fun trip for her. I like to experiment with different tackle but I want
Ginny to catch fish and you were a big help.
Thanks for sending the pictures. I printed them out for her to show everybody,
especially our kids. We look forward to fishing with you this fall. If you folks
ever get to Michigan, you have an open invitation to stay with us and we will
take you salmon fishing in Lake Huron.
Thanks again,
Jack & Ginny Anderson
Ed,
I
want to tell you that the time you, Rick, and I spent fishing was the best that
I can remember. Yes, it was great to catch fish, and yes it was great to get "Bubba"
but the best was the time on the water and the expertise you provided.
Also, I am hooked on saltwater fishing. Not a good thing, short term, for a
guy that lives in Michigan. Now, however, I have a vision and a dream that I will
work toward. My Crestliner is up for sale and I am eying a 19ft SeaPro. I may
need some input on this issue in future from you. Thanks again for the experience,
Ed. Our paths will cross again.

Capt. Ed,
I just wanted to take a second to thank you for making my daughter Ashley and
my vacation one of the most special ever. We were able to catch something that
not many families are able to take advantage of. We were able to bring home with
us a lifetime of memories. Just seeing the smile on her face was enough to make
it a successful trip.
I really appreciate you not only taking the time and working so hard to find
us fish. But, also for being patient and making us feel welcome. I've chartered
trips before but I've never enjoyed seeing my daughter smile and having a great
time like I did that day. Thank you for being so professional and so human. I've
never had a more enjoyable fishing trip! We will be back.
Thanks again,
Jeff Beckett
A
beautiful place, an experienced captain, and line zipping off your reel - what
more could you ask for? Capt. Ed guided our family to a fun day on the flats catching
lots of trout, a few rod-bending (and delicious) pompano, and nearly a dozen other
species of fish. And he only got lost once! Like any salty veteran of the brine,
Capt. Ed had plenty of tall tales and jokes (some of which were even funny), as
well as information on the local wildlife and history of the area. All in all,
you just can't go wrong booking a day with the Redfish Hunter.
Regards,
Dan Ketchen
We wanted to thank you again for a great outing. Good fishing, good wildlife
and great company. Looking forward to another trip in the spring.
Thanks again,

Captain Ed and I have been on many memorable fishing experiences over the years.
We've been dolphin fishing in the Keys, and fishing for grouper at midnight, redfish
fishing, but by far the most memorable was the unforgettable morning we had last
year at the Stick Marsh with Ed and my buddy Roger. That's the morning that I
caught my 11 lb. 10 oz. trophy largemouth bass. What a Day!!! Some things happen
in life that you never forget. That was mine.
Thanks for the memories Captain Ed,
Bill Brant
I
have known Captain Ed for many years and have been blessed to spend many occasions
with him in the great outdoors. His love and appreciation for the outdoors combined
with his many skills and abilities always provide for an incredible memory. He
has always been patient with my many questions and always stops for any teachable
moment. I have learned a great amount about fishing from Captain Ed and I am now
better able to create those special memories for my family. I am confident that
one trip with Captain Ed Lewis will leave you with many wonderful stories to tell
about the fish but you will also be encouraged about the character of the man
who led you to the fish.

Captain Ed,
You're
an excellent fishing guide. That BIG grouper and the spanish mackerel were mighty
tasty. You're great with novice fishermen like myself.
Ralph Kay
Capt. Ed,
Just a note to let you know how much I enjoyed our recent fishing adventure.
You are a great guide and a gracious host. I really appreciate you letting me
catch more fish than you did! Not only was the fishing great, I appreciated all
your stories and fishing tips. Some of the stories were almost believable. You
ought to write a book! The Dolphin and Manatee watching were great too. Your boat
was roomy and comfortable with plenty of unobstructed space for casting in any
direction. We had a great time can't wait to do it again!
Lt. Col. Bill Conrad USAF Ret.
Dear Capt. Ed,
Thank you for the wonderful time fishing last Saturday, my dad and I had a blast. Not only did we catch a bunch of big Redfish, but we really learned a lot of new techniques to take back to our own fishing in the Indian River. My dad had some doubts about using a guide, after last Saturday this is definitely something we would do again. Homosassa is a very beautiful area and we will be back again looking for "BUBBA" redfish. Thanks again for the good time this undoubtedly made my dad's birthday.
