Fighting tarpon
|
When you hook into a 150 pound tarpon, it's like hooking the tail end of a freight train until it explodes into the air with gills flared and water spraying everywhere! Then the battle is on. Majestic jumps, hard pulling long runs are typical. Count on a battle for an hour up to two as these fish give you everything they have.
Recent trips have been successful in landing and jumping many good fish. Give me a call to book your trip.
Redfish will remain outstanding through the summer and into the fall. These bulldogs of the flats are fun to catch on light tackle and flyrod. Our backcountry flats with many mangrove islands, cays, and inlets provide some of the best redfish habitat to be found. Quite often we are fishing in 12-18 inches of gin clear water, sightcasting to these fish. What a rush, to make a perfect cast in front of a large red, see him take your bait and then take off across the flats with your drag screaming.
