Fishing is hot-Trout and Redfish Rule!!!

It started as a typical day. I met Chuck and his son, JB dockside at Riverside Resort on The Homosassa River. We boarded The RedfishHunter and cast off in search of trout and redfish.

JB first redfish-you can tell by the smile!!!

The weather was perfect.
We fished the morning outgoing tide for trout.
They were very cooperative, catching many in the slot size of 15-20 inches.
JB was having a ball. A smile was ever present on his face as he reeled in one fish after another. Dad was busy taking pictures and catching his own fish.

As the tide turned in, we headed to one of my redfish "hotels", a rocky point next to one of many mangrove islands and cays that dot the backcountry. Most of these areas hold a good number of reds, if you know how to find them.
On the first cast JB and Chuck hooked up with a hard fighting redfish.

Then it was sheer fun and smiles, catching one red after another. I don't know who was having more fun, JB, Chuck or me.
When the day was done, we had caught trout, ladyfish, and redfish. We also had met and made some new friends from California.

Chuck emailed me when they got back home Here is a copy of the email:
Dear Captain Ed,

This is J.B. How are you? We came home late last night from Florida.
This morning we checked my dad's email and saw your pictures. Thank you very much. We sure had a great time fishing with you. It was so much fun spending time with you. Thank you for answering all my questions about fishing. My dad says that we will come back to visit with you again with my sister, Gianna, and my mom. I hope it will be soon. You are a nice man. I am glad we are friends.

J.B. really wanted to send his own email to you. He cannot stop talking about our day with you. Thank you for a great day on the water and for getting us into fish.
We had lot's of great memories from this trip, and many of those highlights are from our time with you. God willing, we'd love to come back with the family and spend more time with you. It truly was wonderful to fellowship together in such beautiful surroundings.

The book we talked about, Heaven, is authored by Randy Alcorn. You can find it on Amazon.com It is both comforting and exciting to learn about the eternal home that God has already prepared for us. It will truly be an awesome place, full of wonder and beauty. I look forward to discussing it with you when we come out next time!
